Dr. Ashiqur Rahman Akanda holds MBBS, DO (DU), FCPS (EYE), and Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology degrees. His extensive training includes specialized fellowship at the University of Michigan, Kellogg Eye Center, USA, one of the top-ranked eye centers in the country. He has also received short-term fellowship training at Aravind Eye Institute and Research Center in Madurai, India, and hands-on training in advanced Phaco surgery at Susrut Eye Institute, India.

Currently serving as Associate Professor of Pediatric Ophthalmology at the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital, Dhaka, Dr. Akanda has established himself as a leading specialist in pediatric eye care. He is the current Joint Secretary General of the Association of Pediatric Ophthalmologists & Strabismologists, Bangladesh (APOSB).
