Prof. Dr. Syed Atiqul Haq is widely recognized as the Best Rheumatologist in Dhaka and a pioneer in rheumatology care in Bangladesh. He established the country’s first Rheumatology clinic in 1991 and founded the Bangladesh Rheumatology Society in 1997, where he serves as President.
He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2003 and the International Fellowship of the American College of Rheumatology in 2005. As a leading Rheumatologist specialist, he initiated the COPCORD Study Group in Bangladesh and became the first Chairman of Rheumatology at BSMMU in 2012.
